Sustainability

The last few hot summers, storms and heavy rainfall events have certainly made it clear to everyone – our climate is changing. We will all have to cope with weather events that will affect our lives, the lives of our children and grandchildren.
We as the spa company and the tourist information team as well as the Bad Sulza town council have set out to take small steps to do something for our environment and therefore our climate.

Here are a few examples:

  • As a spa company, we operate nine photovoltaic systems that are installed on various buildings in the city. The electricity generated here is fed into the grid.
  • The street lighting in the village is gradually being converted to LED
  • Waste collection campaigns take place every year with the support of numerous volunteers
  • Sale of numerous regional brine products and local products such as Thuringian wine or honey, which are made by local producers and manufacturers
  • Refill stations: the concept of Refill Germany is easy to explain: you can refill your own drinking containers free of charge at several locations in the town, for example at the tourist information office, in the Trinkhalle or at the “Louisen-Eck” service building, directly on the Ilmtal cycle path
  • and then there are the little things: paper printed on one side becomes “scratch paper”, heaters are turned down after work, waste is separated,…
