Scottish Sea Salt – Blackthorn

“Salters” visited the “Louise” graduation house in Bad Sulza

Bad Sulza, 24.04.2024

On Wednesday morning, the Louise graduation house in Bad Sulza received a visit from Scotland. The Scottish guests, Gregorie, Archy and Ross, built their own graduation works on the Scottish sea in Scotland to produce salt. Under the label “Blackthorn – Scottish Sea Salt”, they produce 20 tonnes of salt per year and sell it in Harrods, among other places. The passion for boiling salt has been in Gregorie’s family for generations, and his heart beats faster when it comes to salt. They are now planning to build a second, even larger graduation tower. To optimise this, they are touring Germany and Poland to see the technology and construction methods of these graduation towers. The first stage took them to Bad Sulza on 24.04.2024. Here, spa director Melanie Kornhaas and other employees welcomed the Scottish “Salters”. There was a lively exchange about the history, renovation and current use of the “Louise”. This laid the foundation for a new friendship with the graduation house.
